NLR not only wins Tucson but sets the ET and MPH record for the west coast. 8.20 and 180.21 mph. This was at about 5500ft corrected.
Vegas!!! The day starts off with a 8.31 @ 171 mph to put us in the number 1 spot. The air was about 4500 ft and it was about 88 degrees out. Track conditions were ok but they were getting better. Our time comes around and Larry hits the first bulb , rpms come up, second bulb ...baaaammm bike leave the line. Its stands up in second gear, third gear, 4th gear...its going straight but its using a 4 ft section of the track. By the looks I new the track was holding the power the bike was making on that pass. 8.09@ 183.67 !!!! Unbelievable...all that drama and still an awesome pass!!!! As Larry comes down the return road he gets a huge response from the crowd and the announcers and other fellow racers as he has just made history on the West Coast. As we line up for our last qualifier our goal is to make a smooth as possible pass! Larry leaves the line , first gear is good , clicks second and it comes up...he chops the throttle and as he does it unloads the rear suspension..catapolting the rear into the air. The bike comes down and compresses the front end as he is now basically on the tank. He gets settled and hammers the throttle and the rest of the ride is candy!! Outstanding riding!! You da man Frito!! 8.07 @ 176 mph....Wooooo hooooo. Team NLR resets the West Coast ET to a 8.070. The NLR TURBO BUSA is now the QUICKEST AND FASTEST HAYABUSA IN THE WORLD and the QUICKEST AND FASTEST STREETBIKE on the West Coast!! We win the event with a series of 20's with mph in the 177 mark as the track cools down to about 80 degrees!! Just a little note..The NLR TURBO BUSA has a Stock stroke, stock bore..and runs off of unleaded 100 octane gasoline!! Congrats to Kevin Smith for a personal best on his NLR built hayabusa uing a Mcxpress street kit with a NLR prepped competition turbo. 8.42 @ 176 mph!!. Nice job!!
On another note....Barry Henson with Dynamic Racing set the all time record for any motorcycle at Maxton this past month. 225 mph into a 15 mph head wind!!!! Will we see 230 and maybe 240 next time out? Power comes from a NLR RACE TURBO..proving once again we deliver!! Steve Knecum and Larry Forstal , the previous record holders, will now be once again a serious threat as there busa will be powered by a NLR RACE SYSTEM. Watch for these two outstanding teams to dominate MAXTON and other events!
NLR...the only choice for motorcycle turbosystems!!!
